- Be on time!
Aim to be early - you never get a second chance to make a first impression. If worst comes to worst and you are going to be late, make sure you ring in and let them know. - Be Prepared!
Look at the employers' website and learn something about the company before you attend your interview. - Prepare possible questions!
Practicing beforehand with someone will make it easier to remember when you get to the interview. - What are your weaknesses?
Try to find an area of your experience/skill that is currently lacking. As long as this can be easily addressed an interviewer will appreciate your honesty. - You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
Dress smartly and professionally and remember to smile. Don't forget a firm handshake and try to maintain eye contact - without glaring! - Be honest!
Lying about your background and/or skills will invariably catch you out. - Talk about specific achievements!
Ideally providing examples of things you've done that you're particularly proud of, how you solved problems, how you learned from difficult situations. - Don't talk too much!
Remember that communication is a two way thing so make sure you talk about what you can offer - just not too much! - Be enthusiastic and positive!
Don't criticize previous employers, particularly from the same industry. Focus on positive achievements and views. - And finally - be on time!
